For the third consecutive year, De Bondt won two “Golden bars”, of the “Compagnia del cioccolato” (Chocolate Society) with its 38% milk chocolate bar and dark chocolate bar with bergamot and lemon: the prestigious Italian prize was awarded during the event “Ciok in Rome”, in progress until February 14 in Rome, with a market exhibition of the products of artisans and master chocolatiers .The winner of the gold in the “Flavoured” category is a blend of dark chocolate with 60% cocoa with oil of bergamot and lemon peel, naturally candied: a truly unique combination of flavors that has been able to conquer those who have participated in the tastings organized by the “Compagnia del cioccolato”. 38% milk chocolate won the first prize in its category is made of Criollo from Venezuela, used in high dose that gives this chocolate flavor and a remarkable expressiveness, with notes of malt and cream.
Many De Bondt products also came among the finalists this year: 3 unflavoured bars (38% and 45% milk and 71 % dark chocolate), 7 flavored bars (in addition to the dark one with bergamot and lemon, the other 6 are all bars of our “Special” series: lemon and lime - a finalist for the third consecutive year, wild fennel, bergamot and lemon, black pepper, spices and citrus and candied Habanero - winner of the gold in 2012) and the De Bondt Ryé praline, already in the final for 2011 and 2012, were recognized as finalists in their respective categories .
In the recent past this prestigious award was won by 66% and 70% in the category of dark chocolate and 38 % in the milk, but since the establishment of the prize De Bondt is a leader undisputed regarding flavored tablets, whose complete set has nearly forty products in 11 sub-categories: the 2012 edition awarded first place at our bar of dark chocolate with candied Habanero, in the “Spicy” series.
